Welcome to The Miami Valley School!

I am honored to serve as MVS’ eighth Head of School.

I was initially drawn to MVS because this school has been a thought leader in education since its founding in 1964. We are a school that values each student’s unique gifts and talents. We challenge, engage, enrich, and empower students in a supportive environment to help each child become their best self. We do this by intentionally designing a learning environment that supports student learning, resilience, and growth. While many schools will claim to do this, our Immersion approach is what makes us stand out.

We know that students learn best when they are engaged in real-world problem-solving and direct experience. Our Immersion Method provides not only the content knowledge and skills that students must have but we also foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. In addition, our students learn to be advocates and can communicate effectively across multiple platforms. At MVS, we have provided a transformative educational experience for 60 years. Here, every senior receives personalized college counseling, and MVS alumni matriculate to top colleges around the country.
Social and Emotional Learning

By creating a safe and supportive environment, our students learn to show empathy for others, respect differences, and manage conflict. The SEL mindset and practices are woven into everything we do.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our standard is inclusion of diversity in all of its forms. Through our Diversity Task Force, we encourage thoughtful conversations and reflection about issues pertaining to equity and justice.
