MVx Test Prep: SAT & ACT Tutoring

Get ready for your big exam.
Through MVx, students have the opportunity to take part in small group, online test preparation classes for both the ACT and SAT exams. The courses consist of four 90-minute sessions leading up to a scheduled test date. "A Taste of Louisville" Adult Immersion, Summer 2025

MVx Louisville is a four-day exploration of Kentucky’s rich history and renowned spirits! From Friday, June 13, to Monday, June 16, join Head of School David Long and Claire Long in the vibrant city of Louisville for a weekend packed with historical landmarks, bourbon tastings and southern hospitality. Lodging in an upscale location central to the heart of the city, you will be surrounded by opportunities to take in the sights and entertainment. Your curated experience not only includes a visit of the Muhammad Ali Center but also offers exclusive access to bourbon distilleries and Churchill Downs.

MVx Louisville Immersion is a taste of Louisville’s finest, and promises a perfect blend of culture, history, and bourbon for an enriching Kentucky experience.

Alan Bouchard, MVx Administrator

Alan Bouchard, a former upper school chemistry teacher at MVS, led multiple student Immersion groups during his time in the classroom, including trips to Yellowstone National Park (Winter in Yellowstone) and the Caribbean (Marine Ecology). In addition to his time at MVS, Alan taught for several years at Rift Valley Academy, an international school in Kijabe, Kenya. He is an experienced SAT, ACT, and subject-area tutor. The Miami Valley School's Immersion as a stand-alone program is completely unique, and my experience with Immersion in the MVS upper school directly shaped me and guided me into what I am doing today. Immersion allowed me to find my passion and learn to make a living doing what I love. I saw the opportunity to do Immersion all over again through MVx and knew I couldn't miss it.
