Admissions Process

List of 4 items.

  • Step 1: Application Form

To start the admission application process, just click here to access our application platform.

The application form should be submitted, with the application fee, by February 1. Applications are accepted after February 1 and students continue to be admitted into grades in which space remains throughout the spring, summer, and during the school year.
  • Step 2: Supporting Documents

Once the application form, with the application fee, is submitted, parents submit a questionnaire about their child and delegate recommendation and school records request forms through the application platform to the appropriate people. Applicants to middle and upper schools also submit an applicant statement. All materials are submitted to MVS through the application platform and the contents of recommendations are kept strictly confidential.
  • Step 3: Student Visit

Applicants to grades 1-12 are invited to visit MVS on a school day or conduct a video chat with admissions and division staff if unable to come to campus. Applicants may be asked to engage with MVS staff for additional assessment in addition to the above steps.

Early childhood school applicants (kindergarten and younger) are scheduled to visit campus in small groups on a Saturday morning in February. Applicants unable to attend the group visit may come to campus individually on a school morning or video chat remotely with staff if unable to come to campus. Applications are welcome after the Saturday visit and accepted students will be placed in a waitpool if there are no openings.

*Early childhood school applicants (JPK-K) should be 3, 4, or 5 years old, depending on the grade, by the first day of school in mid-August, and students must be toilet-trained by the first day of school. Applicants with birthdays between mid-August and September 30 will be considered and may be accepted if they are ready academically, socially, emotionally, and developmentally.
  • Step 4: Admissions Decision

Admissions decisions are issued by the end of March for applicants with completed application files by early March, including all supporting documents and the applicant visit.

Early decisions are given for applicants to grades 1-12 who have completed the application process in the fall or winter for grades in which space is known to be available for the following fall. Later decisions are given as applications are completed.

Decisions include accept, waitpool, and deny.
