Pete Zorniger, a distinguished resident of Dayton, Ohio, has been honored with the 2024 Miami Valley School's Distinguished Alumni Award for his unwavering dedication to supporting both the region and the institution that shaped his early years. As a successful business owner and investor, Pete has made a significant impact on the Miami Valley area through his strategic investments and philanthropic efforts.

A true champion of local development, Pete has been instrumental in enhancing the Miami Valley School’s (MVS) resources and facilities. His commitment is evident in the establishment of the Zorniger Environmental Lab, a state-of-the-art facility designed to foster environmental education and innovation. This initiative underscores his and his family’s belief in the importance of sustainability and education for future generations.

Pete's vision extended to the Tell the World Campaign, a pivotal project that connected the Lower School (LS) with the rest of the MVS campus and facilitated the relocation of the Early Childhood (EC) program to Denise Drive. This effort not only improved the school's logistical integration but also enriched the overall educational experience for students across all levels.

In addition to these transformative projects, Pete and his wife, Kim, have supported various sustainability initiatives at MVS, including comprehensive energy efficiency studies and through their respective service to the school through volunteerism and as staff. Their contributions were instrumental in the school’s successful application for an Environmental Protection Outreach Grant (EPOC), further demonstrating their commitment to both educational excellence and environmental stewardship.
